In response to an online survey published by Pontiac Voice asking “Do you think [our] municipalities and hospital employees should pay for parking [at the Pontiac Community Hospital]?”, out of 517 responses, 515 people said “no”. read more »

By 2020, the Quebec government is requiring municipalities to eliminate
organic waste going into landfills – compostable materials like leaves, grass, household food scraps, etc. The MRC Pontiac and MRC-des-Collines, as well as the individual municipalities, have already been taking steps to conform to the
government's demand (see page 30). read more »

I’ve worked with newspapers for over 20 years and have seen many changes. When I began in 1996 we were still doing paste-up of the pages onto “flats” and

The Pontiac's rural location is often regarded as one of its major challenges. Remote communities often experience a lack of access to services coupled with unfavourable economic and employment realities. Sadly, these deficiencies are often where we focus our attention, so much so that we tend to overlook and take for granted the benefits our region has to offer. read more »
