BRISTOL – Ski Pontiac held its Annual General Meeting, September 21, at Coronation Hall.
President Connie Renaud gave the annual report. Ski Pontiac held three successful Moonlight Ski/Snowshoe events last season and also welcomed grade 5 and 6 classes from Dr. S.E. McDowell School for snowshoeing and orienteering. Ten additional pairs of snowshoes were purchased from Pontiac Sport, with
funding help from Sport et Loisir Outaouais, bringing the total available to 33 pairs. The Wednesday Women's program ran into a lot of bad weather, so it was less successful than in 2015-16.
Three Moonlight Ski/Snowshoe events are planned for the upcoming season: December 2 (or March 3), January 1 and February 3. Details will be announced later in the fall.
There was also a discussion about how to emphasize the need for donations since Ski Pontiac operates on a break-even basis each year, and money is still owing on a snowmobile purchased for trail grooming. Signs may be added to the existing donation boxes to improve their visibility.
Volunteers are also looking for help with administration, trail maintenance and events. Contact Connie Renaud at 819-647-3939.
