CELEBRATING CANADA DAY A DIFFERENT WAY  - Not even the COVID-19 pandemic could stop Sheenboro and area musicians from celebrating Canada Day in style. Billy and Sandra Brennan pulled out their covered wagon and with the help of other local musicians, they performed a few tunes during the afternoon. Other musicians stopped in and joined in  the fun throughout the afternoon. Photo: Betty Morris on the keyboard, Billy Brennan on fiddle, Mike Fox on guitar and Sandra Brennan on the drum.

SHAWVILLE – You know you’ve made an impression when you get a mention by Rick Mercer on CBC television. According to James Sally that happened for the Flying Elbows Tournament a few years ago as another puck dropped on March 21 for the 14th edition of the Flying Elbows at the Shawville arena. FORT-COULONGE – On March 12, the Filles d’Isabelle, chapter 1293, presented its 3rd annual fashion show at the St-Pierre Parish Hall to a sold out crowd of 200 women. Mona Davis emceed most of the event that featured 27 women between the ages of 15 and 74 years old modelling a total of 44 changes of spring fashions from the Shawville / Clarendon stores of Boutique Gwendoline, Shawville Shoe, and Giant Tiger, as well as the Pembroke Mall stores of Ricki’s, Pennington’s, and Alia. read more »
