MRC PONTIAC – For the ninth
consecutive year, the Bouffe Pontiac food drive took place December 3rd in four locations across the Pontiac from 6:00 am to 9:00 am: Campbell’s Bay, two intersections in Shawville, and in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes.
With the help of 42 volunteers who contributed a total of 117 hours
helping Bouffe Pontiac to collect the donations, $8,003 and 516 kilograms of food was collected. “Once again, Pontiac residents have demonstrated their enormous generosity,” said Bouffe Pontiac Director General, Ellen Boucher, who said donations increased by $500 from last year.
The funds will be used to prepare 200 Christmas baskets for distribution to Pontiac families in need this year. According to Boucher, the demand
for Bouffe Pontiac’s services has remained about the same as last year.
The Campbell’s Bay-Litchfield
and L’Isle-aux-Allumettes Fire Departments, the Sûreté du Québec, and the Société de la Protection de la Faune helped to ensure the safety of the volunteers.
