They are worried about the small budget each mayor receives, but how much will it cost for a referendum? There’s no talk about that. We need our mayors and councillors to work for us; when they’re gone, who’s going to care?
How many people will be hired at the MRC for $75,000 salaries to replace the mayors and councillors? Will they be eligible for the job?
If the municipalities are amalgamated, some of us will suffer because one municipality will get everything while the others will fall off the map. That is my thought on it; prove me wrong!
If they’re so desperate to save money, perhaps eliminate some of the positions at the MRC that pay $75,000 or more. That will solve the problem. Way too many
people work there.
