Brian Rock’s column regarding Andrew Scheer in the August 14 edition of the Pontiac Journal was dismaying. In a time when Canada faces so many challenges, such as: creating an innovative economy in face of climate change, people are
hard-pressed to make ends meet, infrastructure like roads and high-speed
train travel need serious consideration, drug prices threaten to sky rocket, and the
healthcare system needs more workers to end excessive wait times, Mr. Scheer says he wants, as Prime Minister, to be an accountant. He wants to cut the deficit.
What Canada really needs is a vision, a passionate leader for the people, who has their interests at heart. What we do not need is penny-pinching.
