On August 17 and 18, the Angel Tree Program and the Anglican Parish Bargain Store of Western Quebec in Portage-du-Fort, generously offered to donate all profits from these two days to the “Back to School” collection of food and supplies program. This is the first year they have held a “Back to School Drive” which started August 5 and ended on Aug. 22. “School supplies can really add up. This is a way to help those in need to get ready for school,” said Laura Fogel, treasurer and secretary of the Board of Directors of the Angel Tree Program. “This is a huge relief for people. We also have a donation drop off at Giant Tiger and Stedmans in Shawville,” she added.
The Angel Tree Program is a non-profit organization; they have recently applied for a Registered Charity Status. This will allow them to give tax receipts to those who donate.
