I wish to thank former Mayor, Leslie Belair, for giving his honest insight as to how the MRC Pontiac works in the article titled “Le maire de Mansfield remercie et émet ses suggestions” in the November 6 issue of the Journal. Hopefully, the newly elected mayors will attempt to change the way the MRC works as we cannot afford it as it exists now.

Hopefully, the newly elected mayors will attempt to change the way the MRC works as we cannot afford it as it exists now. The way the MRC Pontiac functions needs to be streamlined, reduced, and taken away from the idea that $100 per person meetings can be held to discuss every issue.
I know I will be pushing our mayor, and I hope the rest of the councillors will be doing the same county-wide! I also hope our federal and provincial deputies will work to ensure that “our” wood is not being trucked past our closed mills. Our wood should be processed in our county!
