SHAWVILLE – After going door-to-door on August 21 informing
residents to boil all potable water for at
least one minute before
consumption, the municipality of Shawville lifted its boil water advisory August 28.
The advisory to boil water was issued after one of the municipality’s water sample results
was abnormal, testing positive for e-coli during the week of August 21. Samples taken on three different days during the following week were returned normal, warranting the lifting of the advisory. The municipality does not know what caused the abnormal results.
Once again, a group
of councillors and
volunteers went door-to-door informing residents that their water was safe to drink; they also posted notices on Facebook and their website.
