several municipalities in the MRC Pontiac between April 26 and May 4.
The suspects reportedly entered homes and businesses in Shawville, Otter-Lake, Ladysmith and Thorne to steal debit / credit cards, electronic devices, jewellery, and lottery tickets. In some cases, the offenses were committed while people were sleeping in their homes, and in one case, the suspect was caught by a complainant after hearing noise in the house.
Following the investigation by the Sûreté du Québec, the indentity of the suspects was forwarded to police forces in the region.
The 23-year-old man was arrested by police officers in Gatineau on May 4. He remained in custody and appeared at the Gatineau courthouse on May 7 because he was wanted under several arrest warrants. He could also face charges of breaking and entering and fraud.
A 35-year-old woman was also arrested by police officers from the MRC-des-Collines on May 6. She was released on a promise to appear and must return to court on August 7, 2018 at the Gatineau Courthouse. She could face charges of breaking and entering, conspiracy, and fraud conspiracy. (AB)
