In honour of each person’s battle against cancer, we invite you to attend the Survivors’ Celebration of Life (May 28 at 5:30 pm at the Shawville Agricultural Hall), and then take the Survivor’s Victory Lap around the track during the relay’s Opening Ceremonies with others who have also been diagnosed with cancer at some time in their lives.

We also invite you to stay for the luminary ceremony. Candles placed in luminary bags are purchased prior to and at the event and are lit in honour of friends and loved ones who have conquered or are battling cancer, and in memory of those who have lost their battle.
More people are surviving cancer and the chance for them to come together and be recognized at events such as these sends an important message to our
community. Those who have survived for many years are a testimony to the fact that the battle can be and is being won over and over again. Those that are more recently diagnosed have others to look up to and the drive and spirit to realize if
others can survive, they can too.
We want as many survivors to attend as possible, and because we want to properly honour them and their caregivers, we need to register everyone prior to the event. Please call and let us know you are planning to attend (819-647-3508) or send an email to pontiacrelay@hotmail.com.
