CAMP OF CHAMPIONS HITS A HOME RUN FOR COMMUNITY – The Quyon Invitational Organization (QIO) hosted its 14th annual Camp of Champions Ball Tournament from August 15 to 17, drawing teams, families, and friends together for a weekend of fun and fundraising. The event raised $5,700 in support of Special Olympic athletes and local mental health initiatives.

The community centre grounds were transformed into a lively campground, with teammates, supporters, and their families setting up tents and RVs for the three-day celebration. Fourteen teams participated this year, including local groups such as the Municipality of Pontiac, Gavan’s, and Curley’s.

Tournament coordinator Paul Blackmore expressed his gratitude to the many volunteers who made the event possible. He gave special mention to Jacques Prudhomme from the municipality, noting his invaluable support. “He was the thing that kept us going,” Blackmore said.

The Camp of Champions has become a much-anticipated annual tradition, bringing the community together not only to enjoy ball games but also to support meaningful causes.
