FORT-COULONGE – The Club de l’Age d’or de Fort-Coulonge held its annual general meeting, June 8, at their facility on Baume Street. The meeting began with a word from the organization’s president, Lyda Lapratte, who welcomed the crowd, summarized the organization’s activities over the past year, thanked volunteers, and mentioned the need to attract more people to the club to generate new ideas.
The Club raised $24,800 in revenue in the last fiscal year but accumulated $28,600 in expenses, leaving a $3,800 deficit; the majority of the organization’s expenses are related to the general running and upkeep of their building.
The Club’s Transport Bénévole program, which offers transportation for seniors to attend appointments, etc., ended the year with close to $4,000 in
surplus from $31,000 in
revenue. Two volunteers make the program possible; 192 people used the Transport Bénévole
program last year.
Elections were held at the end of the meeting: Lorraine Amyotte – Seat 2; Bernice Laroche – Seat 3; Annette Laroche – Seat 4; Emerence Charbonneau – Seat 6; and Seat 8 remains vacant.
A light lunch was served after the meeting.
