FORT-COULONGE – Over 250 people filled the Pontiac Conference Centre, March 4, to support the Lepack family, who lost their home to a fire in mid-February. The event raised $7,670 for the cause, with additional funds still coming in.
Homeowners Richard and Marthe Lepack said they were overwhelmed with the degree of community support. As well as the couple and their five children, two nephews and their son’s girlfriend were also residing at the residence at the time of the fire.
The event was organized by Richard’s sister Margaret, with help from several
volunteers. In addition to over 90 items donated by local businesses and individuals, the event also included a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, various games, and live entertainment by Phil Denault. Jane Toller, the owner of the Conference Centre donated the hall as well as several prizes.
