During general meetings on October 2 and 3, members of the Chapeau and Fort-Coulonge Caisse Populaire unanimously voted in favor of amalgamating the two branches.
The new Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac will be officially incorporated on January 1, 2019, following the approval of the Financial Markets Authority. The new financial cooperative, made up of some 5,900 members, will manage a business volume of $253.2 million.
This project will promote the creation of a “simple, humane, modern and efficient
institution”. The new Caisse will become more attractive for human resources and will be able to invest fully in developing the skills of its 15 employees in order to offer even more specialized financial services. As a result, members will benefit from high quality services.
The decision will result in few changes for members, but if necessary, additional
information regarding certain technical changes will be communicated to them in the coming months. (LT/ Tr. AB)
