Distressed over property clean-up bill from municipality

When I was in the middle of cleaning up my property on 61 Pembroke Road (a former garage site), I was working out of town. I got a call from my girlfriend saying an Ontario company that didn’t have their CCQ cards (Commission de la construction du Québec) were taking everything off the property without consent.

When I was in the middle of cleaning up my property on 61 Pembroke Road (a former garage site), I was working out of town. I got a call from my girlfriend saying an Ontario company that didn’t have their CCQ cards (Commission de la construction du Québec) were taking everything off the property without consent. When I got there and confronted them, they presented me with a paper from the municipality. I was put in a police car.
The municipality sent me a bill for $30,000 for the clean-up. If I don’t pay, they will sell my property. I can’t afford to pay it. They also sent me a letter telling me to pay the back taxes owed on my property or it will be included in the MRC property tax sale this September.
This has been a problem between the municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes and I since 2019.
