L’ISLE-AUX-ALLUMETTES – Twelve students representing Dr. Wilbert Keon School’s drama class performed their rendition of The Little Mermaid for family and friends, April 3, at the school. The play was adapted from the story by Hans Christian Anderson and William Glennon, published by The Dramatic Publishing Company.
Students spent two months preparing for the play, creating their costumes and constructing props. Given that the students only had one drama class per week, they invested much of their own time during lunch hour, after school, and on the weekends to be ready for the performance. Many students who were not cast as characters assisted by building props and set designs. Teachers Karen McPherson (Director), Louis Schryer, Christine Emond and Kerry Fortin worked with the students in various aspects of the performance.
