SHAWVILLE – The Pontiac Agricultural Society (PAS) is without a president after Charleen Moore resigned on September 23.
“I resigned as PAS president as this has been the most stressful year in my 12 years as a board member. I am no longer willing to add this extra stress to my life as we enter the second wave of the pandemic,” she wrote in a social media
post. Moore declined to comment further on the circumstances.
Vaughan Bastien, first vice-president, will serve as acting president
until the PAS names a replacement during their next board meeting (date unknown). This term will run until the annual general meeting in January.
“Charleen worked hard for the fair as a volunteer for many years. The directors, volunteers and visitors she has worked with over the years have valued her contributions,” said Vaughan Bastien, first vice-president.
