L’ISLE-AUX-ALLUMETTES – Ten teams donned their ball jerseys at the Chapeau Recreation Association ball diamond, between Friday, September 9 and Sunday, September 11, for the 2022 Family Tournament. Participating teams were Plath (2022 Champs), Allard, McGuire, Adam, Lepine, Godin, Chartrand, Fitzpatrick, Lair and Vaillancourt. The event was organized by Marielle Lair and Robert Chafe.

Several local organizations contributed to the event and also benefited from the proceeds: Chapeau Recreation Association ($4,594) for continued field maintenance and upgrades, Harrington Community Centre ($1,531), Upper Pontiac Sports Complex ($1,531) and Chapeau Agricultural Society ($1,531).

The Chapeau and District Lions Club assisted by providing the food booth and many cold brews over the weekend. Donations were made by various local businesses. A host of spectators and volunteers helped with ticket sales, field maintenance, umpiring, youth softball games (Corby Thrasher, Dan Godin) garbage/recycling, bar set up, bartenders, and clean-up, all ensuring
the weekend was a huge success.

The winning Plath team donated their prize of $250 back into the proceeds. Tournament MVPs were Britney Plath, Jamie Holt, Anthony Turner, and Erin Neighbor. Draw winners were Blaine and Tara Gagnon, Roseanne Foy and Brian Adam.
