CAMPBELL’S BAY – Télébec, a division of Bell Aliant, recently announced the opening of a retail location in Campbell’s Bay, made possible by a partnership with Jericom, a company specializing in electronic products and computer services.
“This agreement with the owner, Jean-Claude Rivest, allows us to establish an even closer proximity to our current and future clients by offering them a wide and complete variety of Télébec`s products and services: home telephone, mobile, Internet, as well as Bell TV products,” said Marie-Claude Hébert, senior director of distribution, Quebec and Ontario at Bell Aliant.
“One of the huge advantages of the new partnership is that we are the first company to offer cell phones with local numbers such as ‘648’ or ‘647’ so clients can avoid long distance charges. It’s really a win-win situation for people in the region so they are not charged long distance when they call someone with a local cell phone number or when they make local calls from a cell phone,” said Rivest, who is also vice-president of the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce.
“It is a huge plus for the region because one of our tourism drawbacks is poor mobile service. Clients will have extremely good service through Telebec mobile as they are using the same towers as Bell. A new Bell tower was recently installed in Bryson with plans for more installations in the near future so the service will only improve. It’s a huge opportunity to put the Pontiac in the forefront with partnerships with these corporations,” he added.
In addition, the new Telebec retailer will be able to offer I-phones, high-speed internet services, home phone connections and disconnections, and Bell TV bundled with home phones and mobile services so clients can save money. “One of the advantages this retail location has is that we already know the clientele and their situations so they are not treated as a number. We will be able to go the extra mile to find products and solutions that suit them and their needs,” explained Rivest.
The new retail outlet is located at 337 Highway 148 in Campbell’s Bay. It is the 44th member store in the network of agents spread out across the territory served by Télébec and represents the first agency authorized by Télébec in the Outaouais region. “Telebec employs local people, so this new partnership has the opportunity to create jobs for our locals with a company that pays well. People will also have more incentive to buy locally,” concluded Rivest.
