OTTER LAKE – The Pontiac Archery Club met at “The Depot” for a tournament, August 18. Archers came from across the Pontiac as well as from Chelsea, Kazabazua, and Gatineau (photo). Jerry Dubeau, who owns the location, permitted the club to use the heritage site for its 3rd annual social / competitive event.
The outdoor terrain was arranged with two courses for a total of thirty 3-D targets. Members, armed with cross, compound and traditional bows, also used the occasion to hone their skills for the upcoming hunting season.
Organizers, Bernard Martineau and Flo Cartier, were pleased to see the increasing participation and various age groups currently taking an interest in archery as a sporting event. They mentioned the supportive response from local sponsors who donated prizes towards the day.
