SHAWVILLE – Tanya McCormick of iBead Creations will be hosting a holiday workshop at the Shawville Clarendon Library, December 20, where children aged 7-12 can make beaded wreath ornaments. Although McCormick has done workshops in the past, this will be her first time offering a holiday workshop at the Library. “I hosted a workshop during the Shawville street fair last year and had great success with it,” claimed McCormick.
“In the workshop I will show each child how to weave artistic wire with Swarovski crystals to create a beautiful holiday wreath to give to their loved ones for Christmas,” explained McCormick.
The workshop, which is limited to 8 participants, is free of charge, but a $20 deposit, refunded at the workshop on the 20th, is required by December 18. “The deposit is required to confirm your presence at the workshop. Spaces are limited, and if there is a high interest, I don’t want to have to turn away children because we are full. This way the parents have made a commitment to be there and I can truthfully say that we are full,” said McCormick.
“I hope to get the word out to parents in the area about my workshops for children, which start with children as young as 5 years old, as well as give children a chance to experiment with beads and wire,” concluded McCormick.
