I’m not moving!

I was born and raised in Aylmer but had to move because, unlike most of Quebec, ‘greater Gatineau’ took the idea of ‘pur laine’ much more seriously – to the point of ridiculousness. I moved to the Pontiac to rediscover the true bilingual nature of Quebec like one would find in Montreal or Quebec City.

The Pontiac has a cultural vitality that has been lost in Aylmer, thanks to the
welcoming nature for all Canadians and new immigrants. One does not have to go far to see what poor decisions can do to reduce a community to rubble and allow the small-minded to rise to positions of power. We must pay close attention to the directions of our local governments or we’ll end up in the same quagmire.
