Importance of volunteers

Volunteer organizations have contributed so much towards community projects in the past years, so hearing that some are dissolving because of low membership is very upsetting. Volunteers are the foundation of communities and anyone who has been a volunteer knows how rewarding it can be.

Volunteer organizations have contributed so much towards community projects in the past years, so hearing that some are dissolving because of low membership is very upsetting. Volunteers are the foundation of communities and anyone who has been a volunteer knows how rewarding it can be. Just recently, the Quyon Lionettes presented a cheque for $2,810 from proceeds of their duck race to the Pontiac Community Hospital to buy new wheelchairs. The winners of the duck race on September 12, in order from first place, were: Ward Lance, Joseph Germian, and Francois Beaudoin. The Quyon Lionettes really appreciated members of the community helping out to sell tickets.  We hope more volunteers will step up and
keep these valuable organizations active.
