LUSKVILLE – Residents enjoyed a warm and welcoming Mother’s Day brunch buffet hosted by Lisa Dagenais at the Luskville Community Centre on May 10. Originally planned for the Quyon Community Centre, the event was moved because of flooding in the area. Dagenais said she organized the all-you-can-eat buffet after realizing there were no local restaurants open in Luskville or Quyon for Mother’s Day. “I felt bad that there was nowhere for families to go,” she said. The brunch served 67 meals and brought families and friends together to celebrate the occasion. Despite the last-minute venue change, the day ran smoothly. Between her funeral catering work and weekly Tuesday meal deliveries, Dagenais said organizing the brunch offered a welcome change of pace, and she hopes to make the Mother’s Day buffet an annual event.
