About 1.5 years after the mayor [and council] of the Municipality of Pontiac were elected, here are [their] “accomplishments”: first, an attempt to give away our snowmobile trails; second, abolition of a $75,000 debt by abrogating a resolution of
the previous council; third, door-to-door compost pickup, voted on by four councillors with inadequate information, and fourth, a community
centre 4/5 complete, but supposed to be finished in February, 2018.
As a previous mayor, [I believe] proper procedures for council meetings are not being adhered to and could result in lawsuits. [I believe] the mayor
makes single-handed decisions allowed by four inexperienced
councillors; [I believe] the mayor has an inability to prioritize and to ensure the municipality benefits from grants such as the TECQ program.
This year’s budget is the worst I’ve ever seen, especially raising business taxes
whiletrying to attract more businesses. Alary Road’s repairs increasing from $145,000 to over $650,000 is proof of ineptness to me; these taxes are being wasted.
I’d like to see the mayor resign as a result of a non-confidence motion by
councillors … Who will want to clean up this mess afterwards?
