Please voice your opposition to the Chalk River Nuclear Waste Proposal

Please voice your opposition to the Chalk River Nuclear Waste Proposal
As you, (and many others), will already have read in my Our Environment columns in The Pontiac Journal, West Quebec Post, and  Bulletin d’Aylmer on the proposal for a nuclear waste dump at Chalk River, I am opposed to the concept as currently outlined. I cannot imagine being positive whatsoever about this location for a nuclear dump of any kind.
I am not alone in opposing a Near Surface Nuclear Disposal Site within 1 km of the Ottawa River. Read the Globe and Mail article, "Scientists decry plan for Ontario nuclear-waste site", June 27, 2017. CBC‘s "Proposed radioactive waste disposal site in Chalk River raises concerns", 10 April 2017, and Meredith Brown, the Ottawa Riverkeeper, in CTV’s August 18, 2017, "Ottawa Riverkeeper group announces opposition to proposed Chalk River nuclear waste disposal plan".
The Old Fort William Cottagers’ Association has been extremely active in their opposition to CNL’s proposal, (as well as) Jim Coffey of Esprit Rafting. Jim Coffey wrote, September 6, of the Municipality of Mansfield’s opposition to the Nuclear Disposal Site. (The Municipality of Bristol, Campbell’s Bay and Ile-du-Grand-Calumet have also opposed it, and, no less, the cities of Montreal and Laval.)
Former Pontiac MNA Charlotte L’Écuyer has expressed her concerns about inadequate environmental studies regarding this site’s location.
Because you represent the Pontiac riding, you represent me — and many of the people mentioned here. As an MP, you have a responsibility to the Canadian public at large. I want you to understand that I don’t want this nuclear dump next to the Ottawa River for reasons outlined in my columns, and for reasons outlined by the above sources.
I would like to hear that you also oppose this project, as proposed.
Will? Will you please add your voice and influence to the opposition of this project?
