MRC PONTIAC – In a letter sent to members of the MRC Pontiac on December 16, Remi Bertrand, MRC Pontiac Director General, announced his resignation in order to begin a new chapter with a private
investment and development firm. Bertrand’s
resignation marks the end of his eight years of
service to the MRC.
“I leave with a heavy heart, but with also a sense of accomplishment,” wrote Bertrand. “Thank you for your confidence and for the privilege of managing such a high-quality professional team,” he continued.
MRC Pontiac Warden Raymond Durocher
highlighted Bertrand’s numerous contributions to
the MRC Pontiac in a press release:
“A natural leader, Remi directed the evolution of the MRC as a driving force of economic development in the region. He put the conditions in place to make this MRC more open and transparent. He created local jobs and reinvested in our territory by seeking and obtaining provincial and regional mandates, such as the management of vacation leases and the Table GIRT. He is at the heart of one of the few regional art collections in Quebec, an award-winning trail network, and several partnerships and service agreements with other local organizations and Outaouais MRCs, and more,” he explained. “Remi performed his duties with integrity, energy, and passion. We are grateful for his outstanding contribution.”
The MRC will take the necessary steps to fill the position as soon as possible, with a job opportunity to be posted early this year. Meanwhile, the Assistant Director Director, Gabriel Lance, will act as Director General.
