MRC PONTIAC & PONTIAC – Do you know of an outstanding business that has made a significant contribution to your community? The Pontiac Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its 2013 Business Achievement Awards until September 16.
The PCC’s second annual awards gala, to be held October 25 at Ferme Livamia, Mansfield, will publicly acknowledge the efforts of community individuals and businesses. Last year’s gala recognized 39 Pontiac businesses, while it’s expected more will be recognized this year.
“It’s necessary to notice and give credit to those who put their best foot forward and stay in the Pontiac area,” said Jean-Claude Rivest, PCC president. “It’s not easy to operate a business here, and we need to commend those who do.”
Nominations can be made in: Young Entrepreneur, 18-35 years old; Self-Employed Business Person; Small Business, 1-9 employees; Medium Business, 10-20 employees; Large Business, over 20 employees; New Business; Farm Enterprise; Lifetime Achievement; and Tourism. The tourism award is new this year and was implemented in recognition of the importance of tourism on the Pontiac region.
“We just released the call for nominations and have 10 so far,” said Ginger Finan, PCC Coordinator, as of last week. Those interested in nominating an individual or business can fill out the form at www.pontiacchamberofcommerce.ca or call 819-647-2312 or email bizdev@pontiacchamberofcommerce.ca.
