MUNICIPALITY OF PONTIAC – Two citizens were attacked by a dog the evening of August 28, in Luskville. Both individuals suffered serious injuries, but were reported in stable condition after the event. The spouse of one of the victims called police, while neighbour Marcel Lamoureux heard the screams and came to help, thinking there had been a fire or altercation.
A 40-year-old man was under attack by the animal, his own. Another, 69 years old, was also attacked while trying to aid the younger man. Both adults were
covered in blood, reported Lamoureux, who was able to lure the dog to a shed with a piece of meat provided by the dog-owner’s wife.
When the police arrived, they had no other choice than to put down the
animal. The causes and the circumstances of the attack are under investigation. The victims were in no state to talk to the police after the events.
Both victims were transported to the Hull Hospital, with the 40-year-old
transferred to Montreal the same night for reconstructive surgery to his arms, which were, Lamoureux told media, “a bloody mess”.
