PARENTS’ VOICE HOSTS FUN-FILLED PARK PARTY IN SHAWVILLE

Parents’ Voice, a Shawville-area group, hosted a day of family fun at Mill Dam Park on Saturday, July 12. The event featured a wide range of free activities for kids, including
a bouncy castle, balloon animals, airbrush tattoos, and a magic show.

The day began with a visit from the Bristol Fire Department and a local ambulance. Firefighters gave kids a hands-on look at their truck and equipment, even letting them activate the siren.

Tattoo artist Josh St-Aubin offered airbrush designs, while Echo the Clown kept children laughing with balloon creations. Magician Chris Pillsworth from Ottawa wowed the crowd with his illusions.

In the afternoon, Meet the Keepers Wildlife Rescue Centre gave kids the chance to meet and pet a tarantula, tortoise, ferret, and bunny, while learning about animal care and behaviour. The Shawville Lions Club provided a cash BBQ throughout the day.

Founded in 2013, Parents’ Voice offers family support, resources, and events year-round, including fun days, babysitting courses, and back-to-school workshops. – Dale Shutt
