Please explain, Premier Legault

So it came to me last night, Premier Legault: the real reason you decided to open schools to primary kids is you WANT the virus to spread. Not too much—just enough. You and your team are not naïve—you know the kids will play together (as they should). If they have the virus they will transmit it to their playmates, who will then transmit it to their families, and communities.

“…Children, while not normally affected very badly by COVID-19, serve as very good vectors of transmission of viruses,” said Dr. Abdu Sharkawy, as quoted by CTV News.
But I’m sure you know that, Mr. Legault, because your experts have told you. So that’s okay in your eyes, I guess. After all, the children and grandchildren of your advisors are going back, right?
The healthcare system won’t be overwhelmed because you’ll catch it in time, this time. Except you won’t, because we’re not there yet. We don’t have the testing capacity, nor the timeliness of tests to know when an outbreak has occurred, until it’s long past the ‘containment’ phase. Just look at the CHSLDs [long-term care homes] if you need proof.
And contact tracing, well forget that. Who knows how many people will have been exposed before you even identify the outbreak. Oh but wait, perhaps you are
planning on taking everyone’s temperature before they enter the school each day?
We know how reliable that is as an indicator of COVID-19.
So why bother keeping up the pretense of social distancing, Mr. Legault? Call a spade a spade and at least be upfront about the plan.
Mr. Legault, you stated,“…there’s no proof yet that those who have been infected and recovered from COVID-19 are free of risk of becoming sick once again.” So tell us please, why exactly are we taking this chance, at this time, before we have more information, more tools, and more resources to do this safely?
