Saturday, June 11, the Pontiac Pride Committee organized the first Pontiac Pride Day in our region; the focus of the day was for youth, to let them know they are not alone in their life choices. Michelle Gagnon, one of the committee members, reported that close to 200 people participated in a variety of activities including discussion groups, a dance party with music by DJ Erica Energy, water games, face painting, a large mural painting, a Drag Show with Saltina Shaker and Kashmir Doll, prize draws and also a free BBQ offered by the committee, etc. Ms. Gagnon said she was very pleased with the participation in the first edition of this event in the Pontiac and thanked their sponsors and all the people who came out to make Pride Day such a great success.
