On March 7, my colleagues and I announced the planned provincial road work for 2017 to 2019.  Among the projects I announced were the paving of the 301 in Otter Lake, the paving of Wolf Lake Road in the Municipality of Pontiac, the paving of the Outaouais Road between the bridge and the village of Calumet Island, and the paving of part of the 366 between Masham and Ladysmith.

Additionally, we gave clearer indications on the timing of previously announced projects. The MTQ is planning that the tender process for the widening of the 148, between Terry-Fox and Maple Roads, will start shortly and that the work will be done this summer. As this is the Gateway to the Pontiac, this is an important project.
Finally, last year I was proud to announce that the Red Bridge would be rebuilt, and as requested by local residents, would be open to allow vehicle traffic. This
project will be among the most important, and most expensive projects ever completed in our MRC. While there have been a few unfortunate delays during the drawing of the plans for the bridge, which tends to happen in projects of this magnitude, the ministry forecasts that the work will kick off this summer. On my end, as this is a priority project, I will ensure the new bridge meets our expectations. It must be built to last for decades to come. We need a bridge that is an important transportation link, a major tourist attraction and a symbol of our common
heritage.
