CAMPBELL’S BAY & LITCHFIELD – At the beginning of December, several robberies took place in the Campbell’s Bay and Litchfield area, with one home-owner losing over $10,000 worth of woodworking tools. Residents estimate the robberies took place on or around December 4.
“We didn’t know we had been robbed until a few days after it happened when my son saw a broken window in the garage and noticed a few things missing,” said Lise Crawford, explaining that they do not go to their garage every day. Among the missing items were a 3-ton floor jack and a cut off saw.
Similarly, Ken O’Leary and his family had not realized they had been robbed until a neighbour noticed the large doors to one of their sheds, which are usually locked, open and the latch to the door broken. Upon inspection, the residents found most of their woodworking tools had been taken, except for those that were very heavy and harder to transport.
Close by, another resident lost his welder as well as the tank and cart that accompanied it. The investigation into the robberies continues. Anyone with any information regarding the break-ins should call the Sûreté du Québec by dialing 310-4141 or 819-648-2141.
