MANSFIELD — The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has suspended its ground search for Jérôme Hérault, a 66-year-old Mansfield-et-Pontefract resident who has been missing since June 19.

Mr. Hérault was last seen leaving his home on rue Monseigneur-Pilon on an ATV with his dog, heading into a nearby wooded area. Although the ground search was suspended on June 24, the investigation remains active, and police say search efforts will resume if new information comes to light. According to SQ spokesperson Sgt. Marc Tessier, investigators are continuing to follow up on the case. “Investigations will continue to try and locate him,” Tessier said. “People should remain vigilant when walking in the forest and look for any clues they may find.”

Mr. Hérault is five feet seven inches tall, weighs approximately 230 pounds, and has grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black-and-red jacket and a black-and-purple helmet. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately. Information about his whereabouts can also be reported anonymously to the SQ’s Criminal Information Centre at 1-800-659-4264, quoting file number 131-260619-005.
