L’Isle-aux-Allumettes – A dozen or so participants kicked off the first Twilight Snowshoe evening on Thursday, February 24, at 6:30 pm to 8pm, on the Chapeau Recreational Association’s grounds at Harrington Community Centre. The group met to enjoy winter and the great outdoors by spending their Thursday evening snowshoeing on a beautifully groomed and lighted trail.
Free 1-week snowshoe rentals, facilitated by the association’s lending program, offered to anyone who requested it, made it an affordable and accessible activity. Karie Bisonnette Sullivan even facilitates that aspect by allowing participants to rent their snowshoes in advance by inviting people to contact her on Facebook.
Hot chocolate and coffee made the weather-dependent, weekly, event delicious.
