MUNICIPALITY OF PONTIAC – Thirty local entrepreneurs gathered September 17 at the Quyon Community Centre for a business networking session hosted by the Municipality of Pontiac, in collaboration with the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais and supported by the SADC Pontiac.

Mayor Roger Larose opened the evening, welcoming participants and thanking the MRC des Collines and the SADC for their collaboration. MRC des Collines Warden Marc Carrière also offered a few introductory remarks.

The session provided entrepreneurs with practical guidance on developing business plans, accessing federal and provincial grant programs, and preparing projects for approval. Presentations were delivered by members of the MRC des Collines Economic Development team, Josianne Bride and Ben Kuhn, who also covered budgeting, advertising, and customer outreach. The event aimed to give entrepreneurs the opportunity to network, connect with regional economic development partners, and learn about available resources.

Organizers noted the turnout exceeded expectations and said the strong participation highlighted a clear need within the local business community.

To showcase regional talent, several local businesses contributed to the evening: the Egan Mill provided donuts and cookies; Vignoble des Collines and Domaine Pontiac offered locally produced wines; Leystone Farms shared their traditional Welsh cakes; and Oui Chef Catering Service supplied light bites. Many participants said they hope to see more events like this one.
