LITCHFIELD – At the MRC headquarters on Thursday night, November 13, Jane Toller picked up her childhood Bible and read Proverbs 3:1–6 before being sworn in for her third term as warden of the MRC Pontiac. “These verses have guided me since I was given this Bible at 11 years of age,” she said.

Guests applauded her declaration and offered a standing ovation after she presented her seven-point plan for the coming term.

Her priorities include improving hydro infrastructure through better communication and modernization of power lines. She plans to expand trades training in schools and attract people to local occupations through financial incentives. Toller emphasized that all health services will remain local, that every resident will have a doctor, and that public transportation will be strengthened to support residents who need rides for essential travel.

She also highlighted the need for a local driver education school and increased services at the SAAQ. Greater sharing of services among municipalities will be encouraged to help reduce the tax burden.

Support for agriculture will continue, particularly the Agrisaveur food transformation kitchen and the abattoir project. Independent wood producers will see biomass markets further explored. The MRC’s youth council—which Toller noted is unique to the region—will continue, alongside newly created seniors’ and flood-prevention task forces.

Toller concluded by reaffirming her commitment to listening, collaborating, and leading with optimism, expressing her hope for the future of the Pontiac and gratitude for the community’s support.
