MRC PONTIAC – Hydro-Québec has confirmed that seven employees in the Pontiac region have been suspended indefinitely. Due to an ongoing investigation, the utility said it cannot provide further comment or details.
Caroline Milliard, Hydro-Québec’s director for regional affairs and communities, said the suspensions are linked to what she described as “serious breaches.” She noted that all employees are required to comply with the company’s code of ethics. “We take all
necessary measures to ensure it is respected,” she said.
The utility also stated that all affected areas continue to receive full service from other Hydro-Québec teams. Pontiac Warden Jane Toller confirmed the region remains supported.
“Hydro-Québec has provided five crews available to us 24/7,” said Toller. “I know many people were concerned because the weather was very cold and the system was fragile. There were frequent outages.”
Over the past week, Hydro-Québec has worked to address ongoing outages in Waltham and Mansfield caused by extreme cold. The communities were connected to the Cadieux substation in Bryson, a move Toller said has significantly reduced service interruptions.
