TEA AND TRADITION MARK 150 YEARS IN DANFORD LAKE – About 120 to 150 people gathered at the Danford Lake Community Centre, May 2, for a tea hosted by the Alleyn-et-Cawood 150th anniversary committee. The event, held from 11 am to 2 pm, featured tea, sandwiches and desserts, along with prize draws and fundraising efforts in support of anniversary projects.

Committee chair Angela Giroux led the event, with support from director Glenda Emery Squitti and a large group of volunteers. Families, including mothers and daughters, attended the celebration, many dressed in period-inspired clothing reflecting the late 1800s. One attendee wore a shawl more than 100 years old, adding to the historical atmosphere.
