LUSKVILLE – The Police Service of the MRC de Collines-de-l’Outaouais held an official swearing-in ceremony for two new police officers, Mathias Morin and Samuel Martineau-Charles, on February 6 at the Luskville Community Center. The public ceremony reflects a growing tradition within the MRC to highlight the essential role of police officers and their commitment to the communities they serve. Chief of Police, Paul Charbonneau emphasized the importance of holding the oath in front of residents, stating, “I want my officers to swear in front of the citizens that they are going to serve.”

At the same event, local resident Michael Christopher Martin was recognized for
exceptional bravery. During a severe snowstorm on December 13, 2025, a driver became trapped in a crushed vehicle following a collision on Route 148 in Pontiac. While emergency services were en route, Mr. Martin forced space between the steering wheel and seat to allow the victim to breathe and held it until firefighters arrived. His swift actions likely prevented a tragic outcome.
