BEAUREGARD MEMORIAL RAISES $10K FOR PARK

Campbell’s Bay council members and the late Maurice Beauregard’s family gathered at the town tennis court August 6 to mark the official handover of proceeds from the third annual Maurice Beauregard Memorial Ball Tournament.

This year’s tournament raised nearly $23,000 before expenses and bursaries, allowing for a $10,000 donation to support the development and maintenance of Maurice Beauregard Park. Over the past three years, the event has contributed $34,000 to the park and $4,500 in bursaries to local graduates recognized for leadership and community commitment. Councillor Jean-Pierre Landry noted the visible impact of these investments, with increased use of the park.

Funds from previous tournaments have improved the tennis court with a new asphalt surface, lines, and nets. The fourth annual tournament is scheduled for May 22–24, 2026.

Beauregard’s wife, Kelly, said one of the most heartwarming parts of the event is hearing stories about “Moe,” his many involvements, and adventures.
