PONTIAC — A routine early morning shift turned into a memorable experience for two local police officers earlier this month.
At approximately 5:15 am on June 2, Constables Valérie Chabot and Émilie Turpin of the MRC des Collines police were dispatched to a residence in the Municipality of Pontiac for an emergency delivery. Alongside the father and responding paramedics, the two officers assisted the mother in giving birth to a healthy baby boy, the couple’s second child.
Following the home birth, the mother and newborn were transported to hospital in Gatineau as a precaution.
On June 7, Constables Chabot and Turpin returned to visit the family and meet the newborn.
