Your MP, Your Voice is a new column that gives me a chance to speak directly with you about the work I am doing as your Member of Parliament for Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi.
The Outaouais has been my home since 2002. Over the past two decades, I have watched our region grow and change, built strong connections across our communities, and learned from the people and organizations working every day to make this such a special place to live.
Since I was elected in 2021, one of the most important parts of my role has been getting out into our communities and speaking directly with the people who live and work here. Meeting with residents, municipalities, businesses, farmers, community organizations or local leaders have helped me understand what is working, what our challenges are and where there are opportunities for our region. They have also helped me bring those voices back to our government.
I know that federal decisions can sometimes feel far removed from everyday life. My goal is to make those connections clearer: to show how decisions made in Ottawa can affect our communities, families and local organizations, and to highlight federal initiatives that could bring real opportunities to our communities.
That is what I want this column to be about. Each edition will focus on an issue that many of you have raised with me. I will share what I am hearing in our communities, explain federal initiatives and decisions, and tell you about the work I am doing with local and federal partners to advance our region’s priorities.
Sometimes, that will mean discussing a challenge facing one of our local industries. Other times, it may mean highlighting a local project, explaining a new federal initiative or sharing an opportunity that could make a real difference here in Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi.
Above all, Your MP, Your Voice is another way for us to stay connected and continue the conversation about the future of Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi.
