MUNICIPALITY OF PONTIAC – On November 4, Luskville Farm Hop hosted a Christmas Farm Hop featuring Mountain View Farm, Leystone Farm, Vignoble Les Collines, Infinity Farm and Agape Gardens. Participants were given a “passport” and upon visiting all five locations, were entered in a draw for the chance to win a prize basket. Vendors were set up at each of the farms, selling Christmas décor and other handmade goods.
Renee Savoie of Mountain View Farm began organizing the farm hop events out of a desire to share the community’s picturesque landscapes and sustainable practices. “It dawned on me that Luskville is a place people tend to drive through since there’s no city centre or town. I wanted to create a way for people to explore Luskville and bridge the gap between people and the products they’re consuming, so they can see where it’s coming from,” she said.
Each farm is home to a unique ecosystem, complete with farm animals that captivated the attention of younger attendees. With unique gifts for purchase, beautiful views and an opportunity to interact with horses, llamas, goats and more, the Christmas Farm Hop was the perfect weekend outing to kick-start the holiday season.
