Close to 100 people enjoyed a wonderful evening of song and laughter with showman Dai Bassett, November 18 at St. Andrew’s-Knox United Church in Bristol. Appropriate to the church setting, Bassett began with a few hymns that had the audience singing along. The sing-along continued as he performed some of his own popular compositions including “The Shawville Fair” and “The Beachburg Fair”. Beverages and delicious desserts were on offer at intermission, provided by the organizers, the United Church Women’s Branch and other church members. After the break, it was WELVIS – the Welsh Elvis – Bassett’s alter ego, who came out wigged and sequinned to continue entertaining with Elvis songs and comical stories to the delight of the crowd.
