    The Journal has an opening for a Managing Editor, starting in the first quarter of 2022, as our current editor takes an extended maternity leave.  The successful candidate must have strong interest in local issues, community leaders and events, research skills and photography.  Most work will be done in English, but a working knowledge of French is essential.  They must have a vehicle and camera.

    The hours are flexible (between 50 – 60 per bi-weekly issue) and most work is done at home; coverage of MRC meetings and some other events is required.  Writing effective editorials, on a rotating basis, is also required.  

    Remuneration based on previous experience and training required. This will start as a contract position with the opportunity of becoming permanent.

    Details of the position are as follows:
     –    Tracking and assigning coming events for freelance reporters
    –    Editing submissions and sending for translation verification
    –    Writing 4 -6  articles per issue, including an occasional editorial
    –    Planning layout of the newspaper pages and working with the production department
