Fire leaves family of four homeless
On November 10 at 3 pm, the Pontiac Ouest Fire Safety Service was called to a house fire at 89 Check Line Road in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, the home of Edward Chartrand and his wife Kelly Ann Ryan-Chartrand. With assistance from Waltham’s fire department, the fire was fought until 1:30 am the following morning.
The fire was first noticed in the summer kitchen before spreading to the rest of the house. The couple’s daughter Chelsea and her friends were outside and notified Mr. Chartrand, who was inside; everyone, including the family’s two dogs, escaped safely, but the family lost everything.
The house was the family homestead of Kelly Ann’s parents and was over 150 years old.
