August 9 was a bright and sunny morning for the Norway Bay Bristol Historical Society’s tour of the Norway Bay Cemetery. The tour was guided by Garry Graham, Chair of the Cemetery Committee. He is pictured above at the gravestone of William King, early entrepreneur, and founder of the Village of Bristol. The site is full of history, with the first recorded burial dating back to 1836.
Also visited was the grave of former Bristol mayor, Jack Graham, and that of Mary Gamble Calvert, founder of the historical society. Another tour is being planned for 2024.
